Measured reference models
Start from a narrow, inspectable model family instead of assuming a generic generator can fit every part.
Choose the interface first
Pick the model that matches the task: an enclosure, holder, spacer, fixture, clip, tray, or fit coupon. Record the mating dimensions and the intended service path before editing a source file.
Verify before relying on it
Inspect the parameter table and generated geometry, then print a small test where fit matters. Model dimensions do not establish material strength, retention force, or a successful physical fit.
Try a repair with an inspectable before and after
This original 30 × 20 × 4 mm plate has a 6 mm through-bore. One surface triangle was deliberately removed. The local PurCad repair worker selected that missing patch, previewed it, saved a separate STL and rechecked the result. The repaired triangle set matches the original; the bore remains open. This demonstrates this selected repair, not a promise that every damaged STL can be repaired.
| Before | After | |
|---|---|---|
| Triangles | 271 | 272 |
| Bounds, mm | 30 × 20 × 4 | 30 × 20 × 4 |
| Watertight | No | Yes |
Reproduce a missing-helper error and fix it
Compile main.scad alone: the referenced parts/spacer.scad is missing and no successful mesh is produced. Then add the helper at exactly that relative path and compile again. The verified result is a 14 × 14 × 8 mm spacer. Upload the main source and helper separately in the SCAD workspace. The files below let you reproduce the dependency problem without an AI edit.
