Design storage around the objects and space you actually have
Organizers are useful parametric jobs because their envelope, contents and access can be measured. PurCad turns those values into editable compartments rather than a fixed generic tray.
Measure the space and retrieval clearance
Record drawer or shelf dimensions, the largest objects and the room fingers need to remove them. Include wall and floor thickness, corner clearance and any labels or mounting points. Leave manufacturing tolerance around fitted items.
Start with envelope and compartment logic
Generate the outer tray, then divide it by object groups or repeated spacing. Keep width, depth, compartment count and wall thickness editable. Add handles, labels or stack features only after the basic layout is verified.
Check usable space rather than outside size alone
Inspect sections through dividers and measure internal compartments. Confirm that fillets and wall thickness did not consume necessary clearance. Print one compartment or a short corner sample before the complete organizer.
Storage loads and materials still matter
Thin printed dividers may flex or fail under tools and metal parts. Choose material, base thickness and infill for the real load. Food, medical or chemical storage requires compatible materials and cleaning requirements.
