Route a real cable through a clip sized for the actual installation
Cable clips are strong text-to-CAD jobs because the cable diameter, mounting surface and available space can be measured. PurCad keeps those dimensions editable, records revisions and exports the selected version for printing or further CAD work.
Measure the cable and mounting surface
Record cable diameter or bundle width, the surface thickness, fastener size and the room available for insertion. Include the required bend radius and whether the cable must snap in, slide through or remain removable without tools.
Generate the retaining shape before cosmetic details
Start with the cable channel, entry opening and mounting feature. Review the named diameter, clearance, wall and fastener parameters, then refine edge radii or labels in a separate version so the functional interface stays easy to verify.
Inspect retention and print clearance
Measure the built opening and channel, inspect the mounting wall in section view and confirm that the cable can enter without an impossible bend. Print one short clip before producing a complete routing set.
Cable material and environment affect the final fit
Flexible jackets compress, printed plastics creep and warm environments reduce holding force. PurCad validates bounded geometry, not long-term cable safety, electrical insulation or fire performance. Test the chosen material in the actual installation.
